Every five years the United Nations reviews the human rights record of the United States in its totality in a process called the Universal Periodic Review (UPR). Sex workers and trans people have been able to use this process to bring attention to human rights abuses we face and in getting the international community to make recommendations–such as Recommendation 86–for change.

This review has been delayed until November 9, 2020 due to COVID19 and we have almost no access to the process due to the United Nations in Geneva being off-limits to activists. We are using this online session to educate policy makers and share with our communities.
