Written by Radio Pennsylvania. Nov 12th (Harrisburg) — While most people might think of human trafficking as something that happens overseas, a recent decision to try two people on human trafficking charges in Norristown, Montgomery County shows the crime is occurring here in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape spokesperson Kristen Houser says sex trafficking of adults and minors in Pennsylvania is something often hidden in plain sight. Houser says victims, who are often runaways, undocumented or living on the edge of poverty, might have particular tattoos or branding, repetitive injuries and malnourishment. Houser urges anyone who suspects something to call the hotline.
