Global Women’s Strike Endorse Krasner for Philadelphia District Attorney

Mothers & others say: we need Larry Krasner  for Philly District Attorney
As a multi-racial, non-party political network of mothers & others doing justice work for our children and other loved ones, we urge you to vote Krasner for DA on the May 16th primary.
Here is why: Proven track record as a civil rights & criminal defense lawyer with a passion for real justice for all, especially for youth of color.
Comes from defense, not prosecution like the other candidates

Lawyer for two of our kids (Black): Tyree Carroll who won vs charges by abusive police; & student beaten by Temple cops.

Worked against mass incarceration during his entire legal career, not just mouthing it for voters.

A history of acting for justice, not betraying us for personal ambition.

Stands up to police – filed 75+ civil rights lawsuits vs the Phila PD for corruption and violent abuse, including for Askia Sabur.

Black Lives Matter. When asked about “stop and frisk”, he will demand accountability for all police behavior, including illegalities.

He said he won’t prosecute sex workers – it’s a “poverty issue”.

He will refuse to seek the Death Penalty and has opposed it for 3 decades, the only candidate to do so.

He has defended protesters — Black Lives Matter, DNC 2016, RNC 2000, Decarcerate PA, Occupy, KWRU — often at no cost

The other candidates are part of the problem. Rich Negrin is endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police; Tariq El-Shabazz (close to ex-DA Seth Williams indicted for corruption) was disciplined by courts for taking fees but not defending clients; as a judge Theresa Carr-Deni claimed the rape of a sex worker was only “theft of service” and dismissed charges against the rapist.
